Mohamed Mohamed
Chief Executive Officer


Education

 

Master of Business Administration from Moi University, BA/Business Management from Moi University. He is a member of ICPACK.

 

Key Experience:

 

Mohamed is a Finance and Accounting professional with over 20 years experience. He has vast financial management experience across multi sector industries relating to ICT, Telecommunications, retail and supply chains. He is seasoned in Financial Accounting, ICT, Operations, HR, and Commercial/Marketing matters. Previously he worked for Hamilton Harrison & Mathews (HHM), Seven seas Technologies Ltd, Elris Communications and Infocom where he has held senior finance roles

Lawrence Ngao
Chief Finance Officer

Education

MBA Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology. Bachelors degree of Commerce Accounting from Kenyatta University. He is a CPA holder and a member of ICPAK.

Key Experience

Tech-Savvy and has been involved in implementation of several ERPs including: SAP, Odoo, Sage Accpac/Pastel, Hansaworld among others.

Over 15 years of work experience with over 10 years at senior management. He has worked with companies in different sectors of the economy including FMCG, manufacturing, Technology, Telecommunication, ISP and real estate.  

 
Elizabeth Oyombe
Human Resources Manager

Education

Master of Business Administration from Africa Nazarene University, Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration from USIU and a higher diploma in Human Resource Management. A member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).

 

Key Experience

HR Professional with over 12 years' experience both at transactional and strategic levels and a track record of achievements in Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Workforce Management, Performance management, Learning Needs Analysis, Employee and Labor Relations, Benefits Administration and HR Administration, Change Management and Stakeholder Management.

Currently the Human Resource Business Partner of Uchumi Supermarkets PLC charged with overseeing the Company’s human resources and aligning the human capital to be able to achieve the company’s objectives and in compliance with relevant legislation.

Wainaina Mungai
Chief Information Officer
Education 

He holds a Master of Communications Management (Buckinghamshire New University), BTech (Electrical and Communications Engineering) from Moi University. He has a Diploma in Computer Studies from Strathmore College with Certifications in IT Service Management (ITIL), registered with th Engineers Registration Board and is a Practitioner of the Institute for the Management of Information Systems.

Key Experience

Eng. Wainaina Mungai is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) involved in the revival strategy of the Uchumi Supermarkets and serves as the President of the Internet Society (ISOC) Kenya Chapter. He is former Trustee of the Internet Society (ISOC) Kenya Chapter, former Chairman of the Assembly of Broadcasting Operators of the East Africa Communications Organisation (EACO) among others industry advisory roles. 

Edward Mwakima
Senior Operations Officer

Education

Holds Bachelors of Commerce Human Resources Management from Kenyatta University, Diploma in Human Resource Management from Kenya Institute of Management, Advance Certificate in Banking from Universal College, CPA II from British Tutorial College.

Key Experience

Edward has a working experience of over 26 years in the retail Industry(Uchumi Supermarkets Plc) has worked in different capacities. Has over 10 years Experience in the Banking Industry where he worked in various Capacities and also as a banking officer. He has also worked with an NGO as an operations manager, Tours, Travel, Clearing and Warehousing. 


Ann Nganga
Head of Marketing

Education

A Master of Business Administration Degree in Strategic Management and a Bachelor of Commerce in Management Science, both from the University of Nairobi. She holds a certificate in Sales and Marketing from the Marketing Society of Kenya, in addition to various programs attended overtime including in customer service, branding and credit management.

Key Experience

Ann Ng’anga is a seasoned professional in her field. She is a full member of the Marketing Society of Kenya. Ann has over 20 years experience in Sales, Marketing and Strategy formulation and implementation. She joined Uchumi in December 2014.

Simon Sang
Security Services Manager


Education

Simon holds a Higher Diploma in Private Investigation and Security Management and a member of (Prosak) Professional Security Association of Kenya.

Key Experience

Mr. Simon Sang was appointed as Security Services Manager in July 2016. Prior to his appointment, he has held several management positions during his career at Uchumi Supermarkets PLC. Mr. Simon Sang has rich experience in the security industry, having worked in various institutions and USP with immense security challenges. He has knowledge in Retail Security, Loss Prevention and Risk Management for a span of over 36 years

James Nganga
Purchasing Manager

Education

He is a graduate of Egerton University and has a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management from Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS). He also has a Certificate in Enterprise Development Program from Strathmore University.

Key Experience

James oversees the Procurement department which is responsible for procuring goods and services for the company to meet its customers’ needs and contributes directly to the company’s top line and profitability. He is in charge of the Procurement Strategy that comprises Supplier relationship management, Price and margin management, cost management and category management.

He has over 20 years experience in Procurement and Supply Chain Management of FMCGs in the Retail and Wholesale industry.
